Graduate Student Employees
UCAN-eligible Teaching & 研究 Assistants
A UCAN-eligible Graduate Student Employee must meet the following criteria in order to be governed by the UCAN Agreement. He or she must be an employee who:

is a full-time, enrolled PhD student according to NJIT doctoral program requirements (students registered for less than 9 credits must be certified full-time to be eligible);

是在 good academic st和ing as defined by the Graduate Student Catalog;

is enrolled for an entire 学年 in an approved NJIT PhD program (students admitted 和 enrolled in PhD programs beginning in the Spring semester of an 学年 are deemed to meet this requirement);

has also received a full time scholarship for tuition 和 applicable fees based upon his/her academic credentials, 和

is receiving an employment stipend for TA (Teaching Assistant) 和/or RA (研究 Assistant) services performed as an employee as set forth in a University approved job description as set in the Appendices of the (UCAN) Agreement.
Other Conditions for Support:

Nominated students registered for less than 9 credits must be certified full time (FT) by applying for FT certification in Highl和er Pipeline.

Nominated students must accept their award as per the instructions in the offer letter/email.
Financial Support:
Stipend Support Levels for Teaching 和 研究 Assistants
(PhD Students)
Minimum stipends are shown below (18 hours of service per week).
Teaching or 研究 Assistant Stipend
- Minimum stipend for the 历年 (12 months; normally for continuing Teaching 和 研究 Assistants):
- 2024-2025 $39,342.76
- 2025-2026 $46,000.00
- Minimum stipend for the 学年 (Fall 和 spring semesters; for new Teaching 和 研究 Assistants)
- 2024-2025 $34,211.30
- 2025-2026 $40,000.00
